Craft & Yap Brings Community Together at Electric Siren Tattoo in Austin

In November, Craft & Yap hosted a special community-focused event at Electric Siren Tattoo in Austin, Texas, bringing people together for creativity, connection, and giving back. This event was designed to go beyond crafting—it was about supporting the local community while creating a welcoming space for everyone involved.

The night centered around two meaningful initiatives: a community clothing swap and a food and item donation drive benefiting Caritas of Austin.

A Community Clothing Swap Rooted in Sustainability

One half of the event focused on a community clothing swap, encouraging guests to refresh their wardrobes sustainably. Attendees brought gently used clothing and exchanged items with one another, giving pieces a second life while reducing waste.

The clothing swap created an easy, low-pressure way for people to connect, share, and support one another—an experience that aligns closely with Craft & Yap’s mission of creating intentional, community-driven events in Austin.

Supporting Caritas of Austin Through Local Giving

The second half of the event was a donation drive for Caritas of Austin, a local nonprofit dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in Central Texas. Guests contributed food and essential household items throughout the evening.

By the end of the event, the community donated 146.5 pounds of items, a tangible reminder of how much impact can be made when people come together with a shared purpose.

Craft & Yap was honored to help facilitate donations that directly support individuals and families in the Austin area through Caritas of Austin’s programs.
